Casa Ladera is a rare find. Many rental villas have been bought by their owners for that purpose alone. Often they are compromised by their position: perhaps in a complex or near to a main road, or they have been inadequately modernised to a budget. Casa Ladera is something different. Casa Ladera is in a private driveway of only 8 other privately owned villas. The drive winds up the hillside into the Pollenca mountains and offers a secluded, quiet and exclusive environment.

Only five minutes drive from the old town of Pollenca, Casa Ladera is a pretty whitewashed villa set in lovely quiet gardens with its own private pool. The house has been meticulously refurbished and modernised to a standard that ís rarely found. That means showers that are refreshing, beds that give you a good nights' sleep and kitchens that don't make life a chore.

A major plus with Casa Ladera are the gardens. The drive is shaded by trees (a blessed relief in high summer) and a flight of stone steps lead up to the front door. On either side are shrubs of bourganvilla, hibiscus and other vibrant Mediterranean plants as well as two lily ponds full of goldfish and tiny frogs!

In the house, accommodation is all on one level except for the third bedroom, which is upstairs (and has magical views to the mountains as a result).

The living room is cool and spacious, and has an interesting fireplace, a TV, satellite TV and CD player. The dining area is at one end of the living room next to the French windows that lead to the terrace.

The terrace is a special place. The views towards Pollença and the mountains are wonderful. It runs the full length of the living room and is hard to beat for al fresco dining. There is an awning that can be lowered to provide shade during the day and at night it is perfect for lying on a sun lounger and looking at the stars.

The kitchen is a few steps up from the living room and is clean and modern with granite surfaces, fully fitted with microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. To one side of the kitchen there is a small utility area with washing machine, additional shower and lavatory.

The master bedroom, at the far end of the villa, is spacious and airy with large double bed and full en suite bathroom.

Bedroom two is in a cool spot in the centre of the villa and has twin beds and full bathroom next door. The third bedroom has twin beds and is upstairs.

The private swimming pool (approx 9x5m), which can be heated, is set to one side of the house and is surrounded by a large terrace that is ideal for sunbathing. Particularly since there is a shady bar area to one side. A low stone wall separates the pool area from the rest of the garden.

  • Casa Ladera is a non smoking villa.
  • The villa sleeps six and any additional occupancy may be accommodated by prior agreement only .

  • A Hire Car is necessary for this villa.
  • The nearest supermarket is 2 minutes drive.
  • Booking deposit is 20% with balance due 2 months prior to departure.
  • Changeover day is Thursday.
